Kathleen values the therapeutic relationship with her clients and has an empathetic, humanistic approach. She believes that her clients are the experts of their lives and she remains open and curious to fully understand one’s perspective,  values and beliefs. Kathleen takes on a collaborative approach in helping her clients achieve their personal and relational goals.

Kathleen’s therapeutic approach is integrative as she utilizes techniques and lenses from a variety of systemic treatment approaches. Kathleen is culturally competent and adapts her approach to the diverse needs of each client, couple, and family. She uses an Inter-systems Approach in fully understanding her clients’ complexity (systems: biological, psychological, inter-relational, family of origin, culture/environment) and its interaction to their presenting problem. Kathleen will meet with couples and families together and separately throughout treatment and assign relevant homework assignments on occasion, depending on their goals and progress. While Kathleen provides support for clients to accomplish their desired goals she also aims for her clients to create self-awareness and compassion for themselves and others.
