Chelsea, MHC Sex Therapy Intern, Sex Esteem® Coach

Qualifications and Areas of Practice

Chelsea is currently a mental health counseling and psychology graduate intern studying at Columbia University who brings clarity, insight and relatability to sexuality and intimacy. She combines her seventeen years of experience practicing yoga, tantra and meditation with her recent scientific research in: meditation, sexuality, tantric practice, and neuroscience. She has combined her academic research with her meditative studies to develop multidimensional clinical frameworks in her therapeutic work to help individual adults, couples and partnered relationships.

By integrating systemic psychotherapy, sex therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy and somatic inquiry, Chelsea invites clients, partners and couples to become more aware of the nuances in the intimacy they’re seeking within themselves and/or with a partner(s).

Chelsea is committed to creating a safe, trusting therapeutic space for clients to engage in clear and vulnerable discussions addressing their sexual and relational experiences. Using mindful inquiry and curious questions, she helps clients connect the deeply emotional experiences that occur inside of their bodies with communication skills needed to request and reflect with a romantic, and/or sexual partner/spouse. She is deeply inspired to share evidence-based findings underlying psychology, sexuality, and intimacy with clients when needed, as part of the psycho-educational practice of sex therapy. While pursuing her academic studies, Chelsea has worked professionally in the field of sex education; working with sex coaches and neuroscientists to create articles, books, courses, and classes on a range of topics.
